Softing is a leading provider of control unit communication and vehicle diagnostics, a specialist for fieldbus technology and for networking of automation systems.
Its core competence is dealing with communication protocols applied in automotive electronics and industrial automation.
Many of the products Softing has developed during the last 25 years became globally recognized standards.
During the years, almost all car manufacturers used Softing solutions for their production and maintenance cycles.

SoftingRom was founded early 2005 in Cluj-Napoca as a development division of Softing A.G. Munich.

In the industrial automation area, SoftingRom has competences and experience in building diagnostic and control systems for PROFIBUS, PROFINET networks, in networking and configuring field devices for Modbus, Hart networks or in testing the real time Ethernet systems built at Softing Munich (PROFINET IO).

SoftingRom is involved actively in the Automotive Electronics area in the enhancement of the series of software tools grouped in the so called Diagnostic Tool Set, which provides highly specialized features for specifying and engineering ECUs (Electronic Control Units) as well as test systems and communication platforms for Test, Manufacturing and Service.
We are also participating in the process of the development of ECU software interfaces, by gathering progressive experience in communication protocols like CAN, LIN, FlexRay and application standards as ASAM, ODX and AUTOSAR.
