Operating as a leading global multinational pharmaceutical organisation with sites worldwide, our client is now seeking an experienced and talented Quality Control Director for its major manufacturing site based in Melbourne. This is a critical role reporting to the Lead Quality Director and the successful incumbent will be responsible for managing a large team and identifying, designing and implementing areas of improvement within the Quality Control Group.
Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop the Laboratory Control team to drive operational and technical efficiencies and improve equipment performance whilst supporting the broader Quality Group with technical change initiatives
Implement and Manage laboratory systems to support an FDA compliant laboratory
Provide leadership across the Quality Control Group, mentor and educate the team driving FDA/TGA compliance
Work cross-functionally to drive change and focus on bringing the group to a world-class level with a focus on improving equipment, processes and procedures.
Educate, coach and facilitate on Quality Control strategies, lead change initiatives through the managers and supervisors, deliver on Quality Control expectations and KPI’s.
Act as QC subject matter expert in regulatory inspections (TGA/FDA)
Interact with the Global Quality team and take part in any Quality improvement/integration projects as and when required
Requirements
Tertiary qualified in a relevant scientific area, for example Chemistry, Microbiology or Biology
Significant experience working within an FDA accredited environment
Exposure to sterile products and significant experience in preparing for and contributing to successful FDA/TGA inspections
Prior experience setting and driving strategies including rolling out efficiency improvements within a Quality environment
Proven track record within a Senior Leadership role, ideally in a Quality Control capacity but potentially a Senior Quality Assurance or Compliance position within a pharmaceutical organisation
The ability to take a strategy and implement a robust plan to drive through performance at a site level
Previous experience within a hands on quality role preferred with solid technical expertise
Strong communication, coaching and leadership skills with an ability to engage and influence
Strong skills to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders and communication skills to educate and train in Quality Control principles.
