We have a vacancy in Bahrain for an international power consultancy (on behalf of the national utility EWA) for an HV Cable Jointer (locally known as a Senior Inspector) to organise and supervise all site activities related to upgrading, diversion and installation and jointing of transmission and distribution underground cables (220kV), including associated trenching and civil works.
Its a 2 year program, starting at the end of March, with the following responsibilities:
Implements all activities related to installation, diversion, upgrading and repair works of feeder cables.
Supervises the work involving joints of transmission/distribution cables and assemblies, erection of all associated sealing end terminations.
Implements standard procedures for the location/rectification of oil leaks on LPOF transmission underground cables.
Reads and interprets detailed drawings in connection with transmission cable accessories, such as joints, sealing ends, oil/gas pressure tanks, pressure regulator, panels and other associated cables accessories.
Provide technical advice and information with respect to excavation/construction of cable trenches, joint bays, earthing pits and the installation, jointing and backfilling of underground cables.
Co-ordinates the activities of cable jointer's, senior cable specialists.
Advises on work methods to be employed and consults with the Resident Engineer on complex technical problems.
Ensures that the Contractors engaged to execute the works on site are observing all safety practices.
Familiar with the Permit to Work and Sanction to Test procedures.Performs other related functions as may be directed from time to time.

Leave every 6 months, accommodation, car and flights. Although this is a 2 year assignment, but could go much longer.
