You will have the opportunity to work in different projects - either in a financial project for one of the biggest trading company worldwide or in the security information domain.
• One of the projects is a kiosk based scanning and archiving solution. Users are asked to insert all media carried (usb sticks/memory cards/dvd’s) into the kiosk prior to entering a secure area. The kiosk will perform scanning and tracking of the data coming in and out of the secure area allowing or denying access based on a set of rules. In addition it will also perform authentication of the person trying to enter the secure area, allowing or denying access.
• The second project is a data warehouse solution for a major Trading company. Its purpose is to connect to major electronic trading platforms around the globe and collect all trading data taken from them. The data will then be used for live monitoring and post trade activities
Responsibilities
• Provide motivated development time estimates for planning purposes, for new development features, professional services and defect resolving
• Develop new functionality within the agreed timeline and with supreme quality
• Work as “function lead”, where the Senior Application Developer would drive the detailed design and the development for a product feature or a product requirement involving several components
• For the component of ownership, provide estimated resolving timelines, in close collaboration and communication with the team, manage and resolve found software problems within given and communicated timelines
• Maintain code base by continuously documenting, communicating, suggesting, and executing structural changes to ensure run-time robustness and stability
• Maintain supported input and output interfaces, making sure any change in these are thoroughly motivated, documented and communicated well in time to all stake-holding departments.
Skill set (required at a certain level, advanced would be preferable)
• Senior expertise in development using C, C++, in Multi-OS (Win32/64 API, Linux) environments.
• Experience in code quality improvement methodology
• Successfully communicate both verbally and through detailed technical documentation
• Interact with other technical teams as well as business people
• Experience of work and collaborations across different cultures
• Ability to freely communicate in written and spoken English
