JLG Consulting is looking for a talented Technical Team Leader to assume responsibility for a team of highly skilled software developers for its office in Bucharest.
JLG Consulting implements integration solutions to international customers delivering safety critical real-time applications for the aviation business worldwide, technical support and expertise in safety management systems.
As an experienced Team Leader, whilst being highly technical and hands-on capable, you will lead development projects across predominantly in C++ programming language.
To apply for this role, in addition to having a proven management background, you must also have proven technical capability and a track record in software development combined with experience in the leadership of software development teams and delivery of projects within a software development environment.
Key Responsibilities
Motivate, manage and technically support a growing team of developers (3 currently; another 5 to be recruited in the next few months); Assign day-to-day tasks and set priorities;
Understand and contribute to the technical solutions, assist and guide developers from design through to code level;
Liaise with the Customers, participate in reviews and meetings and provide regular and effective progress updates;
Assume responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are pro-actively identified and managed closely and drive all team members to deliver on time and to the required quality standards;
Assume responsibility for the performance of the team; take decisions as necessary to ensure the successful implementation of running projects;
Set targets and personal development objectives for the team members; evaluate individual performance and decide on rewards;
Participate in interviews and decide on new recruitments;
Demonstrate a mature, impartial and tactful attitude in dealing with conflictual situations.
Candidate Profile (Education, Experience and Skills)
University degree (completed) in the ITC domain or equivalent technical studies and experience;
5+ years of software development applications experience using C++;
Good knowledge of embedded Linux systems;
Good knowledge of OOP concepts and practical experience in an OO programming language;
Familiar with modern software development standards, best practices and design patterns;
Experience of people management and the ability to lead and influence others;
Proven experience in leading and managing the delivery of system/software development projects in a structured environment;
Experience in both architecture and implementation-level software design;
Experience in requirements capture, analysis techniques and process improvement approaches;
Strong facilitation and coaching skills;
Excellent personal organisation and ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks;
Able to influence and drive projects to meet key milestones and overcome challenges;
Comfortable working without routine supervision;
A desire to remain technically capable and an expert in current technologies.
