The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for the execution of integrated digital content and social media initiatives. This is a pivotal role in the global marketing function to drive highly engaging social media and digital content globally and as part of regional marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness, share of voice and demand generation.
The role will ensure consistency and best-practice throughout the business whilst advising how we can maximize our social profiles and digital content to reach our target audience through integrated marketing campaigns. This role will be the primary business specialist on strategic and creative content development for website, blogs and social media platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for cross-promotion of content throughout the website CMS and digital/social channels.
Manage online blogs and posts by sourcing content and coordinating stakeholders/thought leaders/3rd party advertisers; integrate video-based content.
Own and drive website content, liaising with stakeholders across the business.
Responsible for developing content across owned and earned social channels. This could include blog posts, tweets, status updates, pins, photos and videos. Moving the business from “broadcast” mode to “engaging” mode.
Moderate and contribute to all of BAE systems Applied Intelligence social media pages
Input into developing the overall digital content and social media strategy.
Develop and manage the ongoing digital and social media content plan for the year.
To be an active member of relevant business specific communities online: to participate in discussions on other blogs, to manage and actively promote our content on blogs, social networks and other relevant platforms to encourage link backs.
Input into our SEM by researching, specifying and successfully implementing SEO (Metadata, categories and tags to content writing to reflect important search terminology) initiatives that support the goals of the various departments.
Ensure all content is on brand
To investigate and keep constantly up-to-date with search terms and what users and potential users are searching for; both on the site and on the wider web and to evolve the site content accordingly.
Proven experience in developing social and digital strategies
Proven experience of developing social and digital plans
In-depth understanding and strong interest in the Internet and Search Engines
Strong proven experience in using social media management and analytics tools
Strong proven experience with writing for social media platforms, including, but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Google+
Minimum of 4 years’ experience writing, editing and crafting content for the digital space, including social media, blogs and website content
Experience of the various Social networks and how to use social media for business
Writing skills and passion for Internet
Advanced English skills, both spoken and written English
High level of computer literacy, particularly MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to perform extensive research and efficient summarizing skills
Web savvy
University graduate, preferably PR/Communications.
