Terre des hommes is looking for a proactive and dynamic professional to join its team in Bucharest, Romania, for implemented projects, especially for the zefiR project. The successful candidate speaks English and Romanian fluently. The working language is English.
Line Management: Finance & Compliance Coordinator
Duty Station: Bucharest, up to 10% travel in Romania
Working time: 40 hours per week.
We offer an initially 1-year labour contract, with a possibility of extension.
Main tasks
• Finance Management: checking partners’ entries, constant communication with them, supporting the project audit process.
• Instalments disbursements to partners.
• Field trips to partners sites, on finance checks, inventories.
• Assisting in building budgets for proposals.
• Back up responsibilities as cashier and administrative office assistant, booking costs per contracts in Romanian accounting, payroll calculation.
Knowledge, Attitude and Experience Required
• Studies - minimum university economic studies finished.
• Work experience- minimum 2 years work experience in accounting, preferably in NGOs, on donors’ contracts. Experience in financial management of structural funds projects much appreciated.
• Knowledge of English and Romanian: spelling, grammar, vocabulary
• Knowledge of advanced Excel and Word, google docs.
• Knowledge of the operation of office equipment and personal computers.
• Knowledge of standard formats for letters, memos and reports.
• Knowledge of record keeping and reporting methods.
• Ability to learn and apply rules, regulations, office policies and procedures.
• Ability to record, file and transmit information.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Diplomatic, non-conflictual behaviour.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff and partners and to welcome visitors.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
