Supervising all financial activities - an integral part of the job we require is that our general counsel review all financial activities to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws. The general counsel will report directly to the CEO, about possible legal implications in all our departments, and will handle everything from crisis management, to coordination between departments to ensure the company's legal risk is minimized.
Review all communications and day to day business activities to eliminate the possibility of any legal dispute arising.
• Advising company about possible conflicts of interest and providing legal opinion memos
• Ensuring company compliance with laws and regulations
* Evaluate and furnish legal and strategic advice
• Tending to various other tasks either unique to a company or simply “as assigned”
• Having advanced knowledge of corporate and securities law
• Demonstrating an “executive presence,” backed up with solid communication skills
• Being able to provide early warning to management and the board
• Being able to lead and work within a multi-disciplinary setting to achieve consensus
• Knowing how to overcome bureaucratic thinking
• Being detail-oriented
• Being flexible and creative
• Maintaining the appropriate perspective no matter how pressured a situation
Good interpersonal skills.
Paralegal or equivalent JD
MUST SPEAK AND WRITE ENGLISH WITH PROFICENCY.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
professional education, experience, and/or equivalent.
Decision-making skills according to the law.
Ability to ensure the effective use of in-house and outside legal resources to accomplish tasks, resolve legal issues, and achieve cost effectiveness;
ability to provide comparison of outside attorneys in order to evaluate performance and to create uniformly high expectations.
