As an IT Engineer, you will be part of our young and highly qualified team, that will develop and integrate powerful in-house solutions, both for Voice System's customers and for the open source project that we have founded and we maintain: the OpenSER SIP server (www.openser.org).
As a potential contributer to OpenSER, we give you the opportunity to also become a respected member within the open source community, which is growing very powerful nowadays.
Our IT Engineers will be taught how to design, implement, tune and deploy a real VoIP platform, for our customers, that you might also be required to supervise and train (remotely or on-site).
The work for Voice System's customers will be in agreement with your domain preferences, your originality and ability to develop new features, and with the general directions dictated by the VoIP environment we work in. Customizable platform may require, from time to time, on-site presence (in customer premises) during platforms roll-out.
VoIP is a new, in-fashion, changing and fast-evolving domain that people need to know more about. So you should be prepared to sometimes travel, along with other Voice System team members, to promote our VoIP solution within international fares, with a strong accent on its originality and the last-minute concepts that it continuously integrates.
Key Skills :
-good knowledge and relevant experience as system administrator on UNIX platforms (mainly Linux) :
- OS installation and package management (deb and/or rpm based)
- Linux fashion installation from sources – configure, compile, install.
- network configuration (interface, iptables, routing)
- shell scripting experience (mainly bash)
- SQL-language and database knowledge (mySQL, postgres)
- WEB server management (Apache-based, installation & configuration)
- version-control systems knowledge (CVS, SVN)
- networking fundamentals - good understanding and knowledge (TCP/IP stack of protocols) and ability to manipulate these
- good knowledge of spoken and written English
Would be a PLUS :
- experience with non-Linux UNIX systems (BSD, Solaris)
- advanced DB (clustering, stored procedures)
- scripting languages – perl, php
- Makefile knowledge
- High-availability tools – VRRP and/or Heartbeat
- VoIP / SIP protocol understanding
- Asterisk IPPBX experience
