The role:
We are seeking a skilled Java Developer that has 3 years’ experience in a mostly code-based Java environment. Candidates must be qualified to degree level in an IT related discipline. Main skills required must consist of creating good & solid code. Equally as important, the candidate must be able to communicate well amongst peers, and be able to relay important information effectively.
As a Java Developer you will be working in a dynamic environment with some of the most talented developers in the online gaming world. There are a number of exciting forthcoming projects as the company continues its global growth.
Responsibilities:
• Handle server-side development for an n-tier Java application
• Be responsible for production of high quality, maintainable code
• Solve challenging technical problems within distributed environments
• Design and develop high quality code
• Work in a team using the Scrum agile methodology ensuring that your team meet your sprint commitments
• Continuous improvement of the tools and processes used by the team

Ideal candidate requirements:
• Server side Java development
• Message-driven architecture
• ActiveMQ, Kaazing or similar
• Database development e.g. MongoDB, noSQL, Neo4j, SQL Server
• JSP, XML, XSL and XSLT
• Spring framework including Spring IOC/JDBC
• Testing good practices: both unit (JUnit) and integration testing
• J2EE applications and strong Core Java skills
• SVN, GIT
• Embrace agile software engineering practices and tools; TDD, Continuous Integration etc.
• Understanding of software development life-cycle, Agile software design principles and build processes
• Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both collaboratively and with limited supervision
• Can deliver results within set deadlines
• Experience in gaming industry is essential
• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
