•Planning, setup, documentation and maintenance of Linux server systems
•Participation in on-call service (7x24)
•Participation in special operations within the scope of maintenance, e.g. at night or at weekend
•Support and contact to hardware and software manufacturer
•Use of defined company processes (e.g. Demand Management, Incident & Problem Management)
•Collaboration at analysis of requirements in projects, at the development of solution and preparation of decisions
•Providing and evaluation of information concerning technical trends and deducing of appropriate activities
•Developing of processes, standards and architectures for the optimization of server operating
•Life-cycle and release management for Unix server systems and related hardware resp. software components
Knowledge & Skills
•Profound knowledge of Unix operating system (RHEL)
•Good knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, Firewall und SAN)
•Adept at high availability solutions (Advanced Server)
•Knowledge of script languages (ksh, Perl)
•Experience with virtualization of operating systems (VM Ware)
•Experience with management tools for operating systems (Satellite Server)
•Experience with application and database server systems (Oracle)
•Solution and action orientation
•Strong organization, time management and task prioritization skills
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders from different locations
•Excellent ability to communicate in English language, verbally and in writing
