The IT Department of Ubisoft is seeking a Microsoft Systems Administrator to be responsible for the health and operations of our Windows platform and server products, with a main focus on operational activities, proactive capacity management and event monitoring. He will also contribute to the execution of various projects and will act as a second level support for the Microsoft systems under his responsibility (including 7/24 pager support).
Your tasks
Responsible for the proper daily operations of the Microsoft systems under his responsibility, such as Active Directory, Exchange, IIS and SharePoint, SCCM and/or SCOM;
Install, maintain and upgrade Microsoft server hardware and software;
Monitor system events to ensure health, maximum system availability and service quality;
Participate to the backups and restoration of Microsoft systems;
Advanced troubleshooting of emergency situations on the network, must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as required;
Perform system & application patching and upgrade of equipment firmware;
Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures related to the Microsoft platform;
Participate to the definition of standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics as directed;
Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards;
Answer user’s query and service requests;
Your profile:
Technical skills:
Work experience of at least three years in Microsoft systems administration in a 300+ servers environment
Certification MCSE 2003 (advantage)
Being familiar with SMS and/or SUS and/or MOM and know how to manage servers in various ways (RDP, MMC, NetSH, and other command-line, etc.)
General knowledge of Cisco network equipment, routers and switches. A good knowledge of Internet technologies and concepts such as DNS, routing protocols, TCP and UDP and higher level protocols such as HTTP, SMTP and FTP is important
Good knowledge of Windows 2003 Server, Exchange 2003 and Active Directory
Good Knowledge of IIS and SharePoint
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
General knowledge of Linux
Soft-skills:
Oral and written knowledge of English
Skill in developing techniques and methodologies to resolve unprecedented problems or situations.
Must be a self-starter that requires only limited supervision/guidance
Be a team player
Have good interpersonal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
