We are seeking a person with proven experience in developing web applications and working with .NET and C#.
MAIN PURPOSES OF THE ROLE
- To develop and deliver modules, products and services working with a team of 5-10 Back End developers.
- To be an effective, respected and influential member of the Back End team.
- To help ensure that the delivery of all Back End projects and work is on time, to quality & within budget.
- To help ensure that all Back End work meets the specifications and performance requirements.
- To help ensure that Back End is an integrated part of the product development process.
- To ensure that Back End work performed complies with the defined product / technical architecture principals.
- To ensure that the Team and R&D leadership is made aware immediately that there is risk of a material effect upon a change in the delivered functionality of any product or service.
- To observe all relevant company policies and rules.
- To represent the Department/Company professionally during meetings or visits with internal or external customers and contacts.
- Has a minimum of three years successful and appropriate technical experience ‘in the battlefield’.
- Has flourished within a similar-sized (5-10) R&D Back End software team.
- Has assumed responsibility and has helped drive development for at least one large area of multiple products.
- A go-getter, someone who takes the initiative and proposes solutions, an excellent team player.
- Deep technical knowledge across the Back End technologies, coupled with an architectural capability; this person is the Back End software architect and specialist in software development in their areas of responsibility either choosing what most needs to be done themselves or starting from minimal descriptions from their technical / team leader:
- C# and all .Net frameworks.
- Web (ASP.Net, MVC) and Windows .Net development.
- Specifically at ease with SQL Server and T-SQL, nothing scares you.
- MongoDB experience is really good to have.
- Nhibernate, Linq, Entity Framework and other ORMs.
- You love JavaScript and other libraries like jQuery, CoffeeScript or Backbone.JS.
- Experience with Linux, Apache, PHP is a plus but not required.
- Good ability to work with and understand advanced technical concepts, including how multithreading and synchronization should be used and has a good knowledge of how platforms work, and more.
- Well used to analyzing user requirements to identify the scope and impact of new requirements or enhancing existing systems.
- Has experience of delivering Back End products, services and infrastructure in a B2C or B2B environment.
- Takes code quality seriously, writing and promoting clean, documented, maintainable code and solutions.
- Goal orientated and focused on achieving milestones, high levels of integrity, self-motivated with a high energy level. Demonstrates drive and enthusiasm, seeks ways to continuously learn and develop, coupled with an entrepreneurial flair.
- Proven ability to grasp and manage the detail.
- Preferably degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline – we also value geeks without qualification but with strong knowledge and experience.
- Commercially aware and able to balance the technologic, strategic and commercial needs of the company.
- Proven experience of being part of teams delivering Back End work / programmes on time, to budget and to the specified quality standards.
- Good communication and, where appropriate, presentation skills.
- Capable of operating at all levels in R&D and with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Good English capability, both spoken and written.
- In love with software development and craves being at the coalface.
