This vacancy is for experienced pubic cloud engineers with a background in supporting critical infrastructure to join our technical teams providing support to major managed service clients.

Responsibilities:
- involvement in archirecture and project definition working with software and infrastructure architects to define requirements;
- offering 3rd line support - investigating and fixing problems escalated from 2nd line support;
- working closely with Agile software development teams to participate in development projects, providing and maintaining public cloud environments;
- providing support for automated deployments;
- configuration of dashbourds to capture performance metrics and KPIs;
- capacity management making use of cloud tools such as auto-scaling and monitoring;
- ensure that technologies operate at optimal efficiency by implementing a series of scheduled procedures according to good practice recommended by vendors and relating to the infrastructure and technologies on which the services exist;
- perform health checks of infrastructure bu reacting to CloudWatch alarms an using available data such as performance metrics / graphs in CloudWatch, checking system logs, ensuring data snapshots are being taken as per schedule, as well as performing restores from backups on request;
- use JIRA for tracking issues/tasks and ensuring relevant stakeholders are informed through JIRA, as well as through attending scrum session;
- attending problem meetings with clients and internal managers;
- on-call support

Mandatory Skills:
We are looking for people within at least 4 years' experience on similar roles though we are willing to make exceptions for exceptionally skilled candidates. The successful candidate will already be in a role where they locate and then resolve deep technical problems, in as many as possible of the following technologies:
- AWS Technical Professional accreditation
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
- previous experience working within a Managed Services provider (MSP)
- experience and skills with configuration management / automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt
- understanding and awareness of the concept of "Infrastructure-as-Code"
- good understanding of virtualization technologies including VMWare
- multi operating system knowledge and security awareness
- familiarity with software versioning tools including tools including GIT, Subversion
- familiarity with JIRA and Confluence;
- some experience and knowledge of scripting, eg. Bash shell scripting, python, Windows PowerShell, VB etc;
- awareness of Continuous Integration/Delivery concpets and CI tools such as Jenkins / TeamCity/Bamboo
- ITIL incident management and use of ticketing systems
- excellent English skills, both spoken and written
- good written and verbal communication skills
- attention to detail, always looking for improvements to processes and tools
- able to work on own initiative
Desirable skills:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
- VMware Vsphere 5/6 Professional
- Microsoft Azure
- experience and knowledge of container technologies, eg. Docker, LXC
- understanding of application deployment and release management best practices including Blue/Green deployment
- awareness of CI / CD tools including software build tools such as Maven / MSBuild, Artefact repository managers such as Nexus / Artifactory
- OS packaging ( RPMs, MSI) and other DevOps tools such as Vagrant
