We are looking for a highly motivated, qualified & seasoned Senior QA Manager to be a part of Vendio's talented Engineering group. You will be expected to lead and manage QA teams that are spread across 3 different continents. You will work closely with the Product Management, Product development, IT Operations and Marketing teams in releasing and deploying high quality products in a timely manner.
- Manage the QA department in local and remote offices
- Mentor and contribute to the writing and execution of test plans and test cases
- Approve software releases after acceptance testing
- Manage testing of many products w/ parallel releases within multiple test environments
- Define test objectives, strategy and standards
- Develop & review QA documentation
- Report on status of product bugs
- Report on productivity of testers
- Manage the day to day activities of a staff of 10+
- Interface with PM, Development, Customer Support, Marketing & Operations teams during the Product Release process
- Contribute to over all testing efforts including cross platform support, installation testing, performance metrics, project meetings
- Manage team objectives, goal setting and achievements
- Design and drive automation strategy/framework
- Occasional travel
This position reports into CTO.
- Ability to build, guide, mentor and motivate team leads
- Thorough understanding of product development life cycle
- Strong technical knowledge in testing methodologies, design and implementation
- Ability to train QA Engineers in procedures/processes/methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, multi-focused and have the ability to prioritize projects
- Able to switch very easily between online and offline projects. Able to work with various development teams concurrently in a 'best-effort', professional manner
- Experience in architecting automation frameworks, hands-on experience in 3rd party and open source based automation tools
- Some Ant/Junit or similar experience
- Experience using Bugzilla or similar bug tracking systems
- Experience using test case management tools
Relevant Experience : 6+ years (remote management experience a must).
