SERVER/DBA ADMINISTRATOR
This position works with Netop Operations Team located in US and Romania. They are responsible for all external server maintenance and implementation projects. Your focus will be on the external hosting area.
Job Description:
- Configuration and administration of our production databases (MSSQL and MySQL) and servers.
- Work to optimize our server setup and daily routines.
- Take responsibility of appliances and proactive plan provisioning of systems.
- Implement new versions of Netop software on servers and build up new server setup for new Netop products if needed.
- Maintaining production and trial servers to ensure high availability.
- Participate in global, cross-sites technical projects concerning optimizations on the external hosting platform worldwide.
- Server surveillance.
Qualifications:
- Experience with MySQL and Microsoft SQL on a database administration/maintenance level. Experience with database replication is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work within server administration in production environments, including knowledge about Linux, Windows.
- Knowledge about the relations between server, SAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, backup, on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Experience with or knowledge about cloud computing/virtual servers.
- Experience with Flash Media server is also an advantage.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Higher education diploma - technical profile.
- At least 5 years hands-on experience in IT system administration.
- Good conceptual and analytical thinking, synthesis.
- Strong analytic skills and sense of perspective which allows you to devise solutions that will fit company’s business.
- Diplomatic and service minded with ability to create results across the organization and across cultures.
- Experience in prioritizing tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English and Romanian.
