As a key leadership role, the Software Development Manager Cloud Services is accountable for managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver software releases. You participate in defining the strategy for the product development team by driving initiatives that deliver on the Avira vision. The systems you are responsible for, deliver value to millions of our customers on a daily basis.
You constantly interact with an international team of open minded coworkers located in Romania and Germany to find the very best solutions to a diverse set of interesting problems.
Your responsibilities:
• Manage a team of -25 highly skilled software developers, DevOps and business analysts
• Collaborate with the Product Management in defining the Product Vision
• Work closely with the Product Managers, Technical Backlog Managers and Business Analysts to:
• understand the requirements of the cloud services
• plan and execute projects
• ensure that the development teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources
• deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines
• ensure that projects remain on target to meet deadlines
• Provide a software development plan that meets the future needs of our clients and markets, based on the state of the art technologies
• Evolve the existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed
• Coordinate releases and sprint planning
• Guide teams to solve technical challenges
• Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of management / leadership experience in a software development organization required
• Must have at least 8 years of experience working through the development, release cycle, and delivering software products to market
• A record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual, team leader and development manager
• Relevant experience with web services, relational- and non-relational databases
• Excellent knowledge of 00 design as well as software performance
• Deep understanding of distributed systems design which allows you to architect fault-tolerant and highly available systems that are able to scale with predictable performance
• Good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, automatic deployment and configuration management, as well as best practices of Continuous Delivery
• Knowledge of laaS / PaaS providers such as Amazon Web Services
