Role purpose:
To provide and operate IT infrastructure services for Vodafone’s Cloud & Hosting customers. Ensure high availability and optimal performance of all aspects of customer’s hosted infrastructure. Constantly improve and optimize existing ways of working and deliver cost efficient services of high quality.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• To perform monitoring and troubleshooting activities for customer infrastructure, using available tools.
• To accurately classify, diagnose, and resolve platform, network, and hardware Incidents at first line. (1st Line Support)
• Notifying customers of service affecting events and alarms.
• To collaborate with colleagues in technical specialist roles to resolve complex technical incidents.
• Working to defined service level agreements and key performance indicators.
• To assist in the building of knowledge and skills throughout the team and to work to continuously improve service to customers
Core competencies, knowledge and experience :
• German C1 proficiency
• Experience in a multinational environment
• A minimum of 2 years technical experience in the following technologies: Enterprise level virtual server environments-VMware & Blade
• Microsoft Server O/S 2000/2003/2008 (including clustering) and Active Directory Administration
Desirable competencies, knowledge and experience :
• Good knowledge of Windows or Unix Scripting, Networking skills – Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint, EMC SAN technologies
• MCP/MCSE/SCSA/RHCE/VMWARE Certified and/or equivalent experience
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• VMWARE ESX 3.5/ 4
• Sun Solaris v8/9/10 (Including SPARC & x86 derivatives)
• Redhat Enterprise Linux v3/4/5
• Sun, Dell, HP server (Proliant & Blade) hardware products
• Good understanding of ITIL methodology
