Job Responsibilities:
•Serves as technical expert for injection molding machines, auxiliary, and processing equipment;
•Document set-up instructions, processes, make adjustments to processes when necessary to maintain product quality and efficiency standards;
•Sets-up injection molding presses, molds, and automation processes (automatic and manual feeding system);
•Executes the mold design and the production changes;
•Supports production schedules;
•Directly performs quick mold changes;
•Oversees startup and materials changeovers, (respecting Food contact discipline and procedures;
•Performs 1st piece inspection prior to handing parts off to Q.A. Inspectors;
•Works closely with the Quality Department to ensure process changes or improvements required;
•Works closely with Molding Maintenance Department in order to guarantee efficient molding (preventive and Reactive molds maintenance);
•Cleans presses during the set-up process;
•Performs preventive maintenance on tooling during production run;
•Identifyes machine malfunctions adequately and report them to the maintenance department;
•Identify tooling malfunctions or corrections required and report them to the toolroom;
•Be able to perform minor machine repair as needed;
•Follow all safety precautions.
Job Requirements:
•Technical (preferred Mechanics or electric) high school diploma or equivalent
•At least 3 years of experience with specialized injection molding, robotic, and peripheral equipment
•Experience with the production of plastic parts
•Experience with fully automated and robot sized injection molding machines
•Understanding of injection molding principles
•Understanding of trouble shooting industrial equipment
•Good knowledge of technical design (Catia V5)
•Knowledge of resistance welding, injection molding processes, and industrial controls
•Strong mechanical or electrical skills
•Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic components
