Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of company people and operations: company business is sub-contracting skilled workers to Romanian ship repair yards, as well as acting as agent for recruiting skilled workers to foreign yards and to offshore oil rigs; employees carry out ship and oil rig repair projects; company also has a technical support infrastructure-engineers & technicians, also provides client support services; finally, company has clerical support processes-personnel administration, accounting, admin.
- Has Profit & Loss and Budget Responsibility
- Provides input/takes active role, together with top-management of mothercompany/ HQ, into long-term planning of business (at least 1 year)-strategic view des input/takes active role, together with top-management of mothercompany/ HQ, into long-term planning of business (at least 1 year)-strategic view
- Ensures company is in compliance with Romanian regulatory requirements.
- Takes steps to ensure company is prepared to bid for projects within EU.
- Ensures skilled workers and their supervisors adopt a ”continuous improvement” orientation toward quality standards.
- Develops and maintains relations with Romanian clients. Interacts with company top management related to the group’s international activities.
Main Requirements:
- Graduate of University or University college, preferably (not compulsory) in the Marine Engineering field, preferably with an MBA and a technical/engineering background.
- Minimum 15 years of general work experience, minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial job, preferably at the top of a mid-size company or at least department manager job with a large player; experience with a foreign-owned company is a plus; experience with an employee leasing company is a plus; experience in the ship building/ship repair industry is a plus; previous international work experience is a plus.
- General knowledge of ship building & ship repair & maintenance sector.
- Good general understanding of Romanian reporting and accounting requirements and a fair understanding of international standards
- Overall knowledgeable of Romanian and EU regulations of the following: labor regulations (including provision of employee leasing services), as well as Quality and Health, Safety & Environmental standards and other relevant business regulations including ship repair and off-shore oil rigs industries if applicable.
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2008 standard and committed to follow through its full implementation throughout the company.
- Excellent people and process management skills; appropriately uses democratic management style/coaching skills; has excellent oral & written communication skills; has strong results orientation; has strong business ethics.
- Proficiency in Romanian and English (speaking, writing, and reading)
