RESPONSABILITATI

Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility):

Coordinates and carries out activities related to the development (e.g. installation, testing & commissioning), operations and maintenance of respective network/service and ensures services perform with consistency, reliability and efficiency in compliance with the engineering standards, objectives, priorities, guidelines and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities :
1. Performs and coordinates the assigned roles/responsibilities in compliance to standards and practices relating to development (e.g. installation, testing & commissioning), operations and maintenance of respective network/service/functionality.
2. Have a knowledge and skills in the following fields: Storage Area Network, Network Service, Internet Hosting, Internet Messaging, cloud & System support, backup
3. Attends to remote stations, shift duties and call-out assignments as and when required
4. Assists in the resolution of complex issues/ concerns and resolves minor faults under minimal guidance, as required.
5. Keeps track of the implementation status of work plan/assignments on a day-to-day basis
6. Ensures coordination of task within the section are promptly, systematically and efficiently carried out according to the prescribed technical standards and procedures.
7. Analyses and collect data for reporting as required. Compiles reports and statistics as required.
8. Provides feedback to supervisor and highlight variance in standard practice
9. Handles resources utilization and ensures efficient and productive deployment of both internal and outsourced resources.
10. Performs supervision, as required; monitors the quality of work of contractors and guides the contractor’s employees on site when needed.
11. Ensures that safety measures are strictly implemented and observed at all work sites
12. Assists in generation of analyses and statistics of operations events to gain insight into potential service quality improvement in the assigned area.
13. Keeps abreast of latest technology and systems developments relating to assigned function.
14. Performs any other related duties, as required.
15. Knowledge of Virtualization techniques.
16. Basic concepts of Cloud computing
17. Experience in operation and maintenance of Linux / Unix Operating Systems
18. Experience in Windows 2008 Server administration
19. Knowledge for Oracle Solaris Operating system will be a plus
20. Knowledge of installing Patches and upgrading systems
21. Good understanding of File Systems, volume manager and Storage concepts
22. Unix / Windows Shell scripting skills
23. Good understanding of Server Hardware components
24. Basic understanding in Networking e.g VLANs, Routing, etc and TCP/IP protocol
