Objectives of the function:
Quality Managers will provide support to the project in the provision of the Management System for the project. Audit of the system to confirm compliance.
Quality Managers will act as the conscience of the Business highlighting those areas that require Management Action. Provide support and advice in the assessment and management of sub-contractors management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the preparation of the Project Business Plan.
Participate in the identification of processes.
Prepare an audit schedule
Carry out audits in accordance with the audit schedule
Monitor close-out of corrective Actions
Ensure Non-conformance records are collected and regularly reviewed.
Support the assessment of suppliers and subcontractors
Review subcontractor quality plans, support subcontractors.
Audit subcontractors as required by the Project Management Team.
Liaise with Clients Quality representative.
Ensure system includes provision for the preparation and subsequent handover of required documentation.
Supervise other QA /QC Managers and inspectors as required
Support Project Managers in highlighting project deficiencies and proposing solutions.
Focal point for performance measurement
Reporting and managing NCR trends
Ensure Management Reviews of the Management System take place.
Experience in the construction industry. Experience in the application of Management Systems. Appreciation of related skills of Environmental and Safety Management. Formal audit training / Good aud;
Graduate in Civil Engineering with around 10 years of experience out of which the last 4 years should be in the Quality department of a medium/large construction industry. Experience in the application of Management Systems. Appreciation of related skills of Environmental and Safety Management. Formal audit training / Good audit skills. Good Listener. Good communication skills. Provision of Management Systems support to Business Units to ensure Group, Business Unit, Project Quality Assurance Plan and client requirements are met, and that National and International standards are complied with.
