Principal Functions (Major Areas of Responsibility):
• Design, enhance & deploy new procedures & processors to manage traffic, as demanded by Changing Traffic Trends & the day-to-day operations.
• Performs and manages activities related to the design, planning, development, operations and maintenance of respective network/service/functionality.
• Ensures network and its elements perform with consistency, reliability and efficiency in compliance with the engineering standards, objectives, priorities, guidelines/procedures and KPIs.
• Provides professional guidance and support to peers in carrying out the assigned functions.
Duties & Responsibilities :
1. Maintain overall performance of DPI Clusters and ensure all KPI/SLA are met as per the standard.
2. Operation of DPI Systems and its related functions.
3. Maintain, Enhance, Develop & Deploy policies, procedures & Techniques for Traffic Analysis, Traffic/Application Tracking & Mitigation
4. Carryout comprehensive operations support such as Design & Deploy new procedures & processors to manage traffic, fault monitoring etc., using DPI systems.
5. Design, coordinate and implement policies to manage traffic efficiently.
6. L2-7 Traffic analysis including traffic decoding at any layer.
7. Application reverse engineering.
8. Unix scripting
9. Carryout major troubleshooting, fault handling activities, and report status of Network quality.
10. Prepare weekly, monthly and other related reports on the DPI, VoIP and the like.
11. Market analysis on VoIP usage and techniques; This includes investigation of the use of calling cards, VoIP application tracking and new VoIP application discovery and the like.
12. UAE Market Analysis for VoIP usage and techniques
13. Keep the network devices updated with latest stable software to maintain stable and healthy network.
14. Regularly review and monitor the algorithms & techniques used in the DPI systems to maintain the quality & the functionality to achieve higher standards and Etisalat objectives.
15. Report generation and presentation in various required formats (PowerPoint, Excel, PDF, etc.)
16. Using the DPI, coordinate and carryout troubleshooting and fault finding tasks, to support diagnostics carried out by other sections and external customers
17. Provides coaching, professional guidance and support to team in carrying out the assigned functions.
18. Performs any other related duties as deemed necessary by higher management.
Knowledge, Experience & Competencies
- Formal Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Telecommunications/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Related Professional Training, Certification or Membership:Mandatory CCIE VoIP / Security + Advance Unix/Linux training
Years & Field of Experience required:
1. 5+ years in a leading role overseeing operations and maintenance of fixed, and data networks and deployment of state-of-the art technologies in a large Telecommunications organization.
2. 3+ years directly related to DPI and VoIP+Security
