Technical Instructor in oil &gas- Abu Dhabi
Qualifications
Instructors should be educated at least up to HND level or equivalent, and should have extensive workplace experience, ideally, though not necessarily, in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities
Teaching experience is essential and a teaching qualification would be an advantage. Familiarity with a Learning Management System and computer-based delivery of learning materials would be an advantage. Instructors are expected to have a sound technical knowledge of their specialisation and an ability to work in a practical context (training plant, workshops, labs., etc.) as well as in a classroom environment. Instructors will normally work in one specialisation area and should be able to teach most of the courses within that area.
Programmes
There are four specializations:
Electrical Technician (Oil and Gas)
Mechanical Technician (Oil and Gas)
Instrument Technician (Oil and Gas)
Process Operator (Oil and Gas)
Language of Instruction
The language of instruction in all specialisations is English. Instructors should have an excellent command of the English language.
Level
Students are 16-22 years old and are being trained as “entry-level” technicians.
The level of the programme equates to NVQ/SVQ level 1/2 (SCQF level 4/5). All courses are verified by the Scottish Qualifications Authority under the Customised Joint Award Scheme.
Working day
There are 5 (five) working days/week. The working day is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (8 a.m – 2.15 p.m. on Thursday)

Salary is competitive (min 3000 USD/month), depending on experience and qualifications. Housing allowance and medical cover are provided.
