Function Specific:
• Participate and contribute within design strategy sessions and create design documents as a result of these sessions;
• Participate in code reviews and provide insight during design reviews;
• Follow standard programming practices and provide input into these practices;
• Work with Business & Technical Project Managers, Technical Leaders, and other developers in a team environment;
• Continue to grow both personally and professionally by accepting constructive criticism in code reviews and by staying current in new technologies/programming practices.
This individual will be responsible for development of new PL/SQL codes that supports BI reporting. The primary responsibility will be to develop/maintain/support the oracle store procedures, packages, views and scripts. The ideal candidate should show interest to learn new technology like Hadoop and reporting tools.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills:
- 3 to 5 years programming experience and a demonstrated proficiency in Experience with Oracle Enterprise Edition;
- Strong PL/SQL experience;
- Solid SQL and PL/SQL coding techniques; ability to create and maintain tables, constraints, triggers, views, stored procedures and functions, packages, and types; solid understanding of SQL tuning practices and indexing and partitioning strategies;
- Knowledge of, and experience with, all phases of the SDLC (software development life cycle), including requirements elicitation, design, coding, testing, and deployment;
- Design and develop procedural logic (mainly implemented with Oracle packages) for the same;
- Highly analytical problem solver;
- Ability to show initiative and work independently with minimal direction;
- Demonstrate a desire to remain current with industry technologies and standards;
- Experience is working with report (Cognos, Tableau, etc) development team will be a plus.
