Main Purpose of the job
Network Virtualization Expert for Enea’s own network function virtualization projects as well as in joint open source ventures with other companies and foundations. Responsible for the entire lifecycle of the specific product(s).
About the project
We are building a team specialized on NFV and network virtualization to be able to provide our customers with the best solutions, guidance and support for their new generation network services. As a member of this team you will develop your competence in all relevant technology areas (SDN, NFV, KVM and other virtualization solutions, cloud technologies etc.) and you will engage both in Enea’s own network function virtualization projects as well as in joint open source ventures with other companies and foundations.
Enea uses an agile development process, which means you are expected to work autonomously, and self-driven assuming responsibility for task assignment, coordination with your colleagues from your own and other teams, escalation and reporting.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include analysis and design, development, integration, testing, documentation, training and support for products and solutions related to communication and virtualization (normally in a Linux environment). Also, you will need to interact with customers, partners and in open source communities (including up-streaming and possibly maintainer roles).
Desirable qualifications and experience:
• Strong technical knowledge about embedded and/or network systems development
• 2-3 years of relevant industry experience
• Experience and skills in C/C++, scripting (bash/python), Java
• Experience from software development in relevant technical areas such as SDN, NFV, Cloud Computing, OpenStack, virtualization, Linux, IP/networking technologies, distributed systems etc.
• Experience working with the Yocto project/tools is a plus
• Experience in Linux development (kernel, user-space, applications, virtualization)
• Passion about software development, interaction with other people and to learn
• Excellent proficiency in both written and oral English
• A sense of humor ;-)
