The successful applicants will be responsible for attending pre-agreed customer appointments to install Fibre Optic Ethernet products to various sized businesses.
We have positions across the UK from Scotland down to the South Coast, as well as in Ireland, Sierra Leone, Barbados and Cayman Islands.
You must have the following minimum qualification and experience:
3 years fibre splicing and testing experience
3 years Blown fibre experience
Industry recognised fibre and testing qualifications preferably City and Guilds communications cabling and networks 3667 qualification level 2 and 3
Be familiar with the Health and Safety requirements of working in the underground network
Be proficient in the use of fusion splicing machines and OTDRs
Familiarisation with PON networks
Ability to read understand job packs and network drawings.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must have a clean drivers licence to drive a transit van. With no driving convictions within the last five years. (this licence may have to be transferred to a UK licence).
Ability to read, write and speak in English is critical, as these are customer facing positions.
The candidates recruited will attend a one week BT accreditation and assessment.
Accommodation during training and accreditation is provided by the client, candidates are paid £60 per day while on training.
Once training is completed, candidate will be issued with a van and tools and posted out to an area, they can either select an area if there is work available or client will allocate them.
Client will not provide accommodation post training – the guys need to sort themselves out.
Client will not carry transport costs for getting the guys to the UK – they need to get here under their own steam.
