POSITION Maintenance Mechanical Technician
DEPARTMENT Maintenance

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Maintenance Manager, and within the limits of the established hotel policies and procedures.
PURPOSE & RELATIONSHIPS:
• To carry out regular inspections and examine for defects in building services, plant, equipments, installations, etc...and keep relative records.
• To carry out tests on building services, equipment, installations, etc...including the use of test equipment and keep relative records.
• To perform preventive maintenance work and to carry out the necessary modifications on building services, equipment, installations, appliances, tools, etc...and keep relative records.
• To attend to faults and breakdowns of building services, equipment, installations, appliances, etc...
• To carry out fault identifications and localizations and subsequent repair works on building services, equipment, installations, appliances, etc...
• To examine drawings, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine the appropriate method and subsequence of operations.
• To operate and maintain all machinery and equipment.
• To supervise contractors' personnel carrying out maintenance, servicing or installation works, and ensure that work is carried out to standards acceptable to the company.
• To perform technical support to assist with the design, development, installation, operation and maintenance of building services, equipment, installations, etc...
• To ensure that all operational, safety and security standards and regulations established by the company are adhered to at all times.
• To provide support to the rest of the staff of the Maintenance department as required.
• To report on activities undertaken.
• To train, guide and coach the subordinates as required.
• To direct subordinates in meeting their work objectives.
• To assist the Maintenance Manager on the daily operation as required.
• Comply with Company Grooming Standards.
• Comply with Time and Attendance Policies.
• Actively participate in training and development programs and maximise opportunities for self development.
• Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including:
• Being attentive to Guests.
• Accurately and promptly fulfilling Guests requests.
• Anticipate Guests needs.
• Maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the Guest experience
• Demonstrating a ‘service’ attitude
• Taking appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
• Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Safety
• Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Ensure all security incidents, accidents are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your manager.
• Be aware of the hotel's conservation of energy saving policies.
• Co-operates with the team and members of management and be supportive and loyal to the company.
• Meets any other request given by the Maintenance Manager/Assistant or Operations Manager.
