Adecco Professional Placement is looking for its client, a company that offers premium data storage solutions, worldwide, a Technical Support Engineer
Overall description of the job
* Evaluate, troubleshoot and follow-up on customer issues while tracking details;
* Support storage systems problems involving root cause analysis;
* Storage performance analysis and optimisation;
* Standardise and automate repeatable tasks. This may require creating documentation and scripts that can be used in the future;
* Identify, replicate, and document customer reported product defects and enhancement requests which later on will be communicated to the team members;
* Implement workarounds if applicable;
* Write online documentation, such as FAQ’s and knowledge base articles.
Required Qualifications, experience and education
* Strong knowledge of UNIX based systems;
* 3+ years of experience in NAS/SAN storage products;
* Deep understanding of file systems and sharing protocols CIFS/NFS;
* Good knowledge of hardware components;
* Strong problem solving and debugging skills;
* Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Bash/Python/etc);
* Good communication skills;
* Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications and experience
* Good knowledge of ZFS file system;
* Experience with Solaris OS and it’s derivatives;
* Knowledge of DTrace;
* Italian language.
